Here’s a cheeky little play on words. We have all had moments in our lives when our family, friends or strangers try and pull us into some kind of drama. Instead of getting sucked in, take a giant step back and out of that energy and kindly tell that person- “Go Earth yourself!” It very well may help you shake off any negative energy you were picking up from the person and give yourself a little giggle in the process. A good Earthing never hurt anyone.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the term Earthing it also is connected to grounding, when you are connecting your energy with the energy of Mother Earth. This can be done in many ways but most especially by having your body in physical connection with the Earth. Walking barefoot in the grass, on the sand etc. There are an incredible amount of benefits to doing regular Earthing and Grounding work both physically and visually. When you are missing that energetic connection to the Earth you can have emotional and physical symptoms- tired, cranky, depression, depleted immunity etc.
A great book to pick up that has more information and scientific explanations on the benefits and importance of Earthing is “Earthing The most important health discover ever?” by: Clinton Ober, Stephen T. Sinatra, M.D, Martin Zucker.
Would you like to try an Earthing and grounding exercise and see the benefits immediately for yourself?
Find a place outdoors where you can remove your shoes and wiggle your feet and toes on the Earth or in the grass, sand etc. If you would like to be more comfortable find a place to sit on the ground, up against a tree, completely laying on the ground, whichever you feel guided to do.
Take several nice deep breaths.
Tune into your senses.
What do you hear? What do you see? What do you feel? What do you smell?
Now feel your body completely relax as you continue to breath.
You may wish to close your eyes and visualize white light energy coming into your crown chakra (the top of your head) see or feel, sense or just know that it travels gently through your body and out your root chakra (at the base of your spine) and out the soles of your feet.
Once the energy touches the ground the energy spreads like the roots of a tree. Deep down into the Earth, rooted, grounded, connected.
Now feel those roots accepting the energy Mother Earth offers, feel, see, sense or just know that the energy from the Earth travels up through your roots into your feet and the root chakra in your physical body. This energy continues up your body and out of your crown chakra at the top of your head.
Take several more deep breaths.
Affirmation- “I am connected, grounded, and nourished by Mother Earth”
Continue to breath and be present in your body. When you are ready continue on with your day knowing that you can come back and reconnect in this any time you need to.
The energy of the Universe, Mother Earth and you are all connected and part of a beautiful dance that is unending. It is important that we acknowledge and take the time to understand and nurture ourselves and our place in this Cosmic existence.
Cheers and Blessings,
